I love how the Lord works.
We have been busy for several years developing the land for God’s purposes. We are having fun watching Him as He directs our paths.
We have recently set up a web site and are still doing some fine tuning . Please keep us in your prayers as we take one step at a time, we would love for you to visit our site: Visionministry.org Vision Ministry recently added a facebook page as well.
Before we were asked to host our children for the summer….a Ukrainian Church had scheduled a Vacation Bible School here on the land.
Awesome…..See what I mean?
Once we knew we would have the kids…we couldn’t wait for the event.
Meanwhile, I decided to set out a jigsaw puzzle for all of us to work on.
I love puzzles….I always have. I usually keep some in the attic. On this particular day I just happened to pick out Noah’s Ark. I wasn’t sure if they were puzzle kids or not…but was pleasantly surprised to find out they were and are!!!! YEAHHHHHHH!
The kids really enjoyed looking at the box top showing all the animals.
As we were sorting pieces to make the frame we discovered that they had never heard that Bible story.
Billy went up to the camp to make sure things were ready for the group. He came home with a big grin.
That evening Billy pulled up some things on the computer about Noah and the Ark.
The kids were mesmerized.
The next day was Vacation Bible School.
That morning a Ukrainian Flag was placed at the entrance. The kids were so excited, they showed it to me and were very proud.
We all went up to the camp area and saw that they had games and fun activities of all kinds.
I suppose you wouldn’t be able to guess what the Bible School theme was?
Yep…..The story of Noah and the Ark.
No wonder Billy had a grin on his face.
They included both languages in the events that day, which made it great for all of us.
The youth group did a fantastic job acting out the story. Of course it was complete with rain!
All the children watched with big eyes.
They also made crafts of animals….and rainbows.
There was a lot of wonderful Ukrainian food.
Wouldn’t you know that I didn’t get even one picture….because I was eating. I really hate that because it was beautiful. They also had made a fruit boat cut from a watermelon…. AND YES….they made it into an Ark! It was amazing!
The women are so hospitable.
They will feed you…. and feed you …..and feed you.
Maybe you can pick out two of our three. They are all accounted for…you just can’t see one of them too well.
It was a great day. Our kids were pretty worn out. However….they were smiling from ear to ear. I know they enjoyed hearing their own language and eating food that was familiar to them.
Once home they did find enough energy to work a little more on the puzzle.
Sunday…bright and early we headed to church, but as soon as we walked in the door…they were puzzle bound.
They stayed with it until it was finished ….that afternoon.
I’m sure it had a lot more meaning to them once they heard the story.
I thought about that very thing.
Was it a coincidence that this group came here to have their VBS? No, I don’t think so…
Was it a coincidence that I happened to grab this Puzzle….AND…..that it happened to be the same topic? No, I don’t think so…
I have often thought about my own life being like a puzzle. I smile as I think about God having the top of the box. He sees the whole picture. I just see one piece at a time. Sometimes a piece doesn’t even look like it goes in the puzzle, it just doesn’t look like it fits. But….surprisingly it does. I never really have been the kind of person that thinks things just happen. Just coincidental… No…I believe they are those pieces that I look at and go….hummmmm. Then later when that piece finds a home in the puzzle….I smile and go OHHHHHHHH. SO that is where that little thing went. It then makes perfect sense as I see the puzzle take shape. One little piece at a time.
There are pieces everywhere these days. I don’t know exactly what the whole picture looks like just yet….but that’s alright….because I know that God has the top. And I know there is a beautiful picture slowly coming together.
Never hearing the story of Noah and the Ark broke my heart. Because, more than likely there is probably a lot more of the Bible they do not know.
I was given a piece of reality.
There are many that do not know…..here and abroad.
Until they hear…how will they know? This Scripture verse came to mind.
Romans 10:14
New International Version
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
I’m so thankful someone told me! Now it’s my turn to tell others.
